Overview

Mustafa C. Karakus, PhD, is an Associate Vice President for Social Policy and Economics Research and a health economist with extensive experience designing and conducting social science research, program and policy evaluations, and econometric and cost analyses. His work focuses on health policy and health services research, health care financing, and health outcomes analysis. He also provides subject matter expertise on study design and implementation, data collection oversight, data analysis, and report writing.

Karakus has led numerous survey research, quantitative research, and program evaluation projects for federal clients. His work has centered on evaluating all aspects of federally funded programs and federal policy changes involving a range of populations, such as people with serious mental illness, first episode psychosis, or substance use problems; veterans with disabilities; people who are chronically homeless; and Social Security Disability Insurance recipients.
