Example Projects
New Hampshire WIC Food Booklet Redesign
Common challenges for WIC participants include difficulty finding WIC-approved food items, navigating the complexities of allowed and not allowed foods, and problems at checkout when eligible foods are denied. Westat is helping create plain-language and human-centered multilingual and digital participant materials, which will improve participant accessibility and usability of the WIC food booklet. The updated booklet will be available in both print and digital formats and translated into 6 languages to better serve New Hampshire’s families.
Community Outreach in Missouri
Westat developed data- and participant-informed outreach materials for a client that wanted to target their outreach efforts to community partners and participants. Missouri WIC Basics: Community Outreach (PDF) provides information on how WIC works, how to refer families for services, who is eligible, and next steps for both supporters and potential participants to connect with the Missouri WIC program.
