Westat’s health services research and policy portfolio is focused on innovative health care delivery and organizations, alternative Medicare and Medicaid payment, quality of care and quality measurement, health information technology and exchange, and patient safety. We provide qualitative and quantitative support, with data-driven health care analyses based on Medicare and Medicaid administrative data, commercial claims, electronic health records (EHRs), public health and state data, and more. Our research supports the entire lifecycle—from program design, technical assistance, implementation, and monitoring to evaluation and knowledge dissemination. Our goal is to inform ways to improve the individual care experience, increase the value that the U.S. health care system delivers, enhance population health, and reduce health care costs.
