Tang Elected Program Chair, AERA Large-Scale Assessment SIG

Judy Tang, a Westat Senior Research Associate for Survey Management and Design, has been elected Program Chair of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) Special Interest Group (SIG) on Large-Scale Assessment for the 2025–26 term.

The Large-Scale Assessment SIG provides a vital forum for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers focused on the design, implementation, and evaluation of large-scale assessments and statewide programs. The group fosters rigorous methodological inquiry, stimulates dialogue on assessment policy, and highlights innovations in educational measurement.

Tang’s appointment is a notable recognition of her professional service and contributions to the field of educational research. In her new role, she will lead the peer-review process for the SIG’s annual meeting submissions and develop a conference program that reflects the most timely and impactful work in large-scale assessment. Her leadership will support the SIG’s mission and further strengthen its professional community.
